Advanced Instructor TCOLE #1017

The Advanced Instructor Course is a professional skill development training for peace officers seeking a TCOLE Advanced Instructor Certificate. During the course, law enforcement officers will be taught advanced theories about the learning process. They will receive advanced practice for writing learning objectives and developing teaching materials and lesson plans. This is an intense and time consuming course.

To qualify for an advanced instructor proficiency certificate, an applicant must meet all proficiency requirements including:

Holding a TCOLE Basic Instructor license/certificate for at least three years; and
Successful completion of the commission's Advanced Instructor Course to apply for the Advanced Instructor Certification
The effective date of this section is February 1, 2014
The student should also be proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint;
Student must bring a laptop to class with PowerPoint capabilities, and must have access to a printer for homework assignments

Attendee must bring their PID # to receive TCOLE credit for courses taken at CAPCOG.  To promote a professional environment, CAPCOG requires proper business casual attire.  T-shirts, shorts, capri pants, and flip-flops are prohibited.  No meals provided with training.

Cancel Registration

CAPCOG reserves the right to cancel a class that does not meet the minimum number of registered attendees at least seven business days before the class start date. In those circumstances, CAPCOG will provide a full refund. Students who wish to cancel their registration must cancel online or notify CAPCOG in writing (via email or fax) at least seven business days prior to the course date in order to receive a refund. There will be a $10 administrative fee for processing the refund.

"No shows" and student cancellations made less than seven business days prior to the start of class may be charged the full course fee. Partial attendance will not be permitted for any of the courses.
