Broadband Roundtable

CAPCOG and Connected Nation Texas are hosting a roundtable discussion about regional and local broadband initiatives. CAPCOG is inviting county judges, Capital Area Economic Development District members, school district superintendents, and state legislators to attend the discussion; however, regional stakeholders in the planning and economic development fields are welcome to attend if room is available. Since seating is limited, registration is required.

Attendees will hear from the director of the newly created Texas Broadband Development Office, Greg Conte, whose office is focused on closing the digital divided through broadband expansion, access, adoption, and digital literacy.

Topics to be discussed by those in attendance include:

  • A state legislative session recap
  • Broadband mapping and data
  • Current and upcoming federal funding opportunities
  • Current and upcoming state funding opportunities
  • Using funds wisely
  • Preparing for broadband expansion now
