Entrance Exam - Basic Peace Officer Course 94 (Part Time Evenings)

Prospective Basic Peace Officer Course (BPOC) candidates need to take and pass an entrance exam before they qualify for enrollment in the Regional Law Enforcement Academy’s BPOC No. 94, TENTATIVELY scheduled to start Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2021 and projected to end in May 2022BPOC 94 is a Part-Time, Evening class held at one of CAPCOG's satellite sites TBD.

The timed exam is a four-part test covering basic mathematics, reading comprehension, grammar, and writing skills. Candidates must score at least a 70 on each section of the exam. Further BPOC qualification instructions will be given after the exam.

BPOCs are designed to meet the initial training requirements mandated by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) for becoming a Certified Texas Peace Officer and to prepare students to take the State's Peace Officer Licensing Exam.

Subjects are taught by TCOLE Certified Peace Officers to meet standardized objectives and to prepare students for the realities of working as a peace officer. Many subjects are taught in an academic setting, while others are taught as 'hands-on' practical lessons. This is an 8-9 month, part-time, Basic Peace Officer Course Academy (police training) designed to meet the educational needs of working adults. It runs from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

The Entrance exam will be held at the CAPCOG location on Burleson Rd!

Special Instructions:

Please arrive no later than 1:00 pm at the Training Center entrance at Capcog at 6800 Burleson Rd, Bldg 310, Ste 165.  Wait outside the door.  We will greet you and escort you to the Classroom where you will test at 1:15 pm.  After the test, please plan on staying 1-2 hours for the BPOC Enrollment orientation where we will give you instructions on how to complete your Personal History Statement and your enrollment packet. We will let you know the deadline to return the enrollment documents and tuition.

The dress code is business casual. Please do not wear shorts or flip-flops. YOU MUST WEAR A MASK and stay 6' apart.

If you have been exposed to Covid-19 within 10 days of the test date, please do not attend!
