Entrance Exam - Basic Peace Officer Course No. 93 (Full Time, Day)

Prospective Basic Peace Officer Course (BPOC) candidates need to take and pass an entrance exam scheduled for Oct 30th, 2020 before they qualify for enrollment in the Regional Law Enforcement Academy’s BPOC No. 93 (FT, Day) which is scheduled to start Monday, Feb 1, 2021 and projected to end Thursday, Aug 12, 2021.

The timed exam is a four-part test covering basic mathematics, reading comprehension, grammar, and writing skills. Candidates must score at least a 70 on each section of the exam. Further BPOC qualification instructions will be given after the exam.

BPOCs are designed to meet the initial training requirements mandated by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) for becoming a Certified Texas Peace Officer and to prepare students to take the State's Peace Officer Licensing Exam.

Subjects are taught by TCOLE Certified Peace Officers to meet standardized objectives and to prepare students for the realities of working as a peace officer. Many subjects are taught in an academic setting, while others are taught as 'hands-on' practical lessons.

BPOC 93 is a 6.5 month, full time, day Basic Peace Officer Course Academy (police training). The Full time Academy runs from 6:45 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.

October 30, 2020, 1:30pm – 4:30pm

Cost: $50.00

Special Instructions:

Please come to the CAPCOG Regional Law Enforcement Training Center Entrance at 1:15 pm. Testing will begin promptly at 1:30.

The deadlines for paperwork and tuition will be discussed with your supervisor.

Self-Sponsored cadets ARE REQUIRED to take the Entrance exam and complete a Personal History Statement to verify enrollment eligibility. Once qualified, you will receive further instructions on the enrollment process.
