Entrance Exam - Basic Peace Officer Course No. 96 (Full Time, Day)

Prospective Basic Peace Officer Course (BPOC) candidates need to pass the Police Officer Entrance exam scheduled for Fri. Nov.19, 2021 before they can qualify for enrollment in the Regional Law Enforcement Academy’s BPOC No. 96 (FT, Day) which is scheduled to start around February of 2022. (Exact date and location TBD).

The timed exam is a four-part test covering basic mathematics (no calculator), reading comprehension, grammar, and writing skills. Candidates must score at least a 70 on each section of the exam. Further BPOC qualification instructions will be given after the exam.

BPOCs are designed to meet the initial training requirements mandated by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) for becoming a Certified Texas Peace Officer and to prepare students to take the State's Peace Officer Licensing Exam.

Subjects are taught by TCOLE Certified Peace Officers to meet standardized objectives and to prepare students for the realities of working as a peace officer. Many subjects are taught in an academic setting, while others are taught as 'hands-on' practical lessons.

BPOC 96 is a 6 month, full time, day Basic Peace Officer Academy.  The Full time Day Academy runs from 7a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursdays.

**The exact date and location of the next Full Time Day BPOC is still to be determined. We will advise you as soon as we know.
