NENA 9-1-1 Center Training Officer - 3 day workshop

*This class is in person at CAPCOG 6800 Burleson Rd*

NENA’s Center Training Officer (CTO) program is designed to provide a framework for a communications center and their selected trainers the tools and information needed to successfully train new hire Telecommunicators through a structured training program.

  • Understand the mission of the Center Training Officer.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the need and utilization of agency policies and procedures in the training program.
  • Understand liability in the center and specifically how it relates to the training and retention of employees.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the elements of the program process.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the proper use of evaluation designators and their role in proper documentation of performance.
  • Understand the needs and challenges of a probationary employee and the best methods in ensuring a successful training process.
  • Demonstrate methods in documenting an NRT (not responding to training) employee.
  • Understand the leadership aspects of the CTO position.

**This class is being offered for free to any telecommunicator** 

Attendee must provide their PID # to receive TCOLE credit for courses taken through CAPCOG. 

When space is reserved for a 9-1-1 training class offered by CAPCOG, students or the supervisor who made the reservation must cancel such reservation at least two business days prior to start of the class or payment for the class will be invoiced to the appropriate agency for the "no show".

Cancel Registration

CAPCOG reserves the right to cancel a class that does not meet the minimum number of registered attendees at least seven business days before the class start date. In those circumstances, CAPCOG will provide a full refund. Students who wish to cancel their registration must cancel online or notify CAPCOG in writing (via email or fax) at least seven business days prior to the course date in order to receive a refund. There will be a $10 administrative fee for processing the refund.

"No shows" and student cancellations made less than seven business days prior to the start of class may be charged the full course fee. Partial attendance will not be permitted for any of the courses.
