Online - Living a Healthy Life - Chronic Pain Self-Management Program
The Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area is conducting online versions of its Chronic Pain Self–Management programs, which were developed at Stanford to help older adults better manage their pain. These courses are offered to adults 60 years of age or older experiencing chronic pain.
During the program, participants will learn:
- Techniques to deal with problems such as frustration, fatigue, pain and isolation
- Moving easy exercise and nutrition for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility, and endurance
- Appropriate use of medications
- Pacing activity and rest
- Communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals
This program runs for six weeks and will delivered online. Participates will need to be able attend using a computer or mobile device. This course is being offered based on interest.
Class size is limited but there is no cost to attend.
