Venue Address:
TO SIGN UP FOR THIS BPOC, YOU MUST FIRST REGISTER FOR THE BPOC 101 ENTRANCE EXAM. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REGISTER HERE!
The anticipated start date for the next BPOC #101 is tentatively Jan to Feb 2024, and will be located in Hays County (You will be notified promptly if dates or locations change).
BPOC 101 is a 9-10 month, Part-Time, Night Basic Peace Officer Academy. The Day Academy runs from approximately 6:00 pm to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Thursdays and 6am-5 pm on Saturdays. Hours may vary depending on courses taught!
Prospective Self Sponsored Basic Peace Officer Course (BPOC) candidates need to pass the Police Officer Entrance exam before they can qualify for enrollment in the Regional Law Enforcement Academy’s BPOC No. 101 (Part Time Night class). Agency Sponsored (employed) cadets do not need to take the entrance exam!
BPOCs are designed to meet the initial training requirements mandated by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) for becoming a Certified Texas Peace Officer and to prepare students to take the State’s Peace Officer Licensing Exam.
BPOC Topics are taught by TCOLE Certified Peace Officers to meet standardized objectives and to prepare students for the realities of working as a peace officer. Many subjects are taught in an academic setting, while others are taught as ‘hands-on’ practical lessons and WILL also include some Physical Fitness Training for your health.
Special Instructions:
If you will be an independent cadet, you must first register on the CAPCOG website to take one of the BPOC Entrance exams. Enrollment packets will be provided once you have passed the exam. Go to training.capcog.org to register for an exam.
